K-98 Eats My 9v Batteries Way Too Fast!

Recommended Posts

I just changed my Jazz with 12v SLA and the kit98 went from a constant 2.409mA drain to .099mA when off. The sound is good too. That's nearly a 25x improvement.

That makes sense, my 6 volt SLA was 1.24ma and .041ma. Double the voltage to 12 volts and the current doubles. I have both the Jazz and DXG drawings changed, was just waiting to make sure everything is good. I have changed 3 of mine so far, they all work fine like this. I'll post the new drawings tomorrow.

I wired up my new cam I just built this way and it worked great. I just put it out in the woods for some testing on saturday. I also brought in a couple jazz's to rewire.

With my 9V battery, my draw went to .07ma. And for my 6v, I saw .041. The audio was great on both too. The nice thing here is that my audio would become degraded quickly before which made me worry I had wired it wrong. Now, the audio is good for sure and it will stay good a lot longer than before.

Definitely a big improvement for me too. Here is the updated drawings. I'm going to post them separate so I won't have to cut them down too much. I will replace the others I posted on here also. Thanks Travis for making this better.

I just converted all of my video builds over to this way and sure hope it helps out on my 9v battery life. What has been you guys results so far? Still good I hope. I noticed after switching over to this way the ending sound on my DXG's has went away. Has anyone else noticed this. I have always disliked that sound. Thanks again to everyone's hard work and time on this.

Roger, do you by any chance have anything written up for day only jazz and Dxg builds?

Or will these work without the array etc.?

No but I can modify them easily if you want. I did these after you posted for the DXG. Is it a DXG you want or a Jazz? Here are the DXG ones. If anyone sees something I missed let me know.
