flintlocker

A piece of artwork

Recommended Posts

Here are some pictures I took of a swivel breach flintlock the gunmaker up the road made for a guy in Texas. This is the same builder that made my flintlock. This gun has 2 barrels to it. You fire the one barrel the twist the barrels around to use the second. Heavy gun but a piece of art. Both barrels are 50 cal. and both are flintlock ignition.

Man, that is fantastic...how in the world does anyone learn to do that?

Flint, does he make all the pieces for that gun himself? What I mean is, does he machine the moving parts, make the barrel, carve the stock, etc...?

That is just awesome. Thanks for sharing.

400 hours, about 10k.

Welby,

No he doesn't machine the locks etc but tweaks them out for performance. Barrels are made locally.

The stock is a blank piece of wood when he starts.
