Ssii Fuji J10 Code

Here is the code I've tweaked from Ghoot's Type 3 program. Thanks to Gary for letting us copy and play with the Sniper Codes.

 

To take advantage of the Fuji J10 speed, I recommend using a 2GB SD card. If you go bigger into the SDHC capacities (4GB & larger), you will more than likely lose 0.2+ seconds. You will also need to make sure your l-ion battery is in good condition as the faster programming maybe a bit more demanding on the battery(s) during boot-up. Feeder mode is set to 30 seconds, but I usually just leave this cam in trail mode. That's the setup that I feel best suits the J10.

 

Quick Notes:

Power on 500 + Shutter 600 = 1.1 seconds

 

To my knowledge, holding the shutter button down almost instantaneous after power on, allows the J10 to fire a pic very quickly. The exact time may vary as the J10 won't fire a pic until it is ready, depending on day/night, no flash/flash, outside temperature, strength of batteries, etc...

 

I've had this outside testing for about a week next to a P41 Bigfoot build. Both setups haven't missed. Very comparable speed between the two when using this quick J10 SSII programming. Ideally, I'd like to test this code for 2-3 months, including cold weather, but I thought what the heck, post it up in case anyone else wants to utilize it. -Paul

I put this code in little over a week ago - it is faster than standard program for the J10....one thing is make sure you set 'frame number' to renew(not continuous) or it will really slow the camera down for some reason. Might get to check the cam next week sometime and let you all know how it did. Thanks for the work on this Paul!

Lon, this code is slightly different (quicker) than the one I posted over on CT. It has impressed me for a $15+ cam. Excellent for close trail sets. Thanks for the tip on 'frame number'. I'll have to see what mine are set to. Definitely let me know how it performed for you.
