Ruined My Dremel Tool

Recommended Posts

I ruined my dremel tool by putting the extension shaft on the tool without the nut that is supposed to go on the dremel .... So, I ended up totally bunging up the treads on the dremel itself.

After researching this, it seems I need to replace the whole armature. Has anyone done this, or is it not worth the effort?

The armature is $15, a LOT cheaper than a new dremel IF it will fit my old 395 type 5 relic

Never done it on a dremel but have on other tools. It's usually not too bad to do. Looking at the schematic it looks like your dremel has brushes too, I would order a set of them and replace them along with the armature.
