Great news and finally a successful harvest! After my 5-day archery hunt 2 weeks ago without a bear, I was able to squeeze out a 3-day gun hunt last week as the season is still open here in Wisconsin. My trip back up to bear camp was scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Was on stand Wednesday late afternoon when the beast showed and I pulled the trigger! Decided to go with the 12 gauge 11-87 slug gun. The partition gold sabot pierced both lungs and sliced the top of the heart off! Man was I excited when it went down. My first black bear. 263 LBS. Here's a few pictures:

Thanks guys, I had a great time. After skinning and quartering the bear we decided bear ribs were going to be on the menu that night at bear camp. Oh so good!!!!

Best ribs I ever ate! After a slow cook all afternoon with some seasoned salt, we pulled them out of the foil that evening, added a little sweet baby rays BBQ, a few beers and didn't go away from the camp fire hungry. :)
