Externals for Sony W55

Recommended Posts

What would you guys use for externals for a Sony W55. They have the 3.6V Lithium Ion battery in them. I was thinking 3 rechargeables would work but what do you guys use?

I use 3 x 1.2v Enneloop black rechargeables but find as soon as the voltage drops a tad they won't power the camera, There's two ways around this; firstly you can simply use 3 x alkaline batteries. If you still want to use rechargeables use 4 x with a .5v resistor in the line.

I have used the actual 3.6 lithium batteries. When you buy the batteries with a charger usually the top part of the charger slides off and you can just solder to those contacts. It's been a while but from what I remember those batteries with the charger weren't that expensive. I have also used 3 rechargeable aa's without issue, just have to make sure that you have a battery in the camera.
