Well pictures are worth a thousand words so here you are.

For those who may not know the process....

1. Power on Camera (This allows the lens cover to open)

2. Remove batteries (This keeps lens cover open while you work)

3. Disassemble camera and locate the only ribbon from the front cover that attaches to the board.

4. Apply tape as shown in picture. (Green rectangle simulates the tape location)

5. Re assemble camera and test. Lens cover should now remain open.

I will work on it.

You know my HP315 night pics were good for poop LOL until I removed the flash difuser on the camera. Test Pics appear nearly 100x better. I am cerious if this method is applied to other camers what the result may be. blink.gif I am waiting on a different chip for my CB-4 so it can refresh. It's a little slow ~3sec but cheap. A snow shoe walk this or next weekend and I'll try to find a good spot. I would like to go before a storm so my tracks are hidden.

Lil off topic... oh well

If you did Travis shutter mod then no it should be disabled and always stay open?? I havent done one yet on a s40 but his instructions are clear and very well done . Be careful in there as the cables are pretty fragile. Good luck

Does disabling the shutter cover on the S40 gain it any speed?

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get
older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

I would say no, just the advantage of less noise. Here is a test I did, the disable one started up 1/16 second faster.
