I have a viv 2000 with a 31057 board. I was controlling the slave with Daves Slavemaster and I needed a Slavemaster for another build so I took it from the previous build. Now I have another Slavemaster to put back in the original build and I do not remember where to connect the leads from the Slavemaster on the 31057 board. The wires I need to connect are the orange, green, blue, yellow. The red and black are self explanatory. I have searched the archives to no avail. Daves site tells where to make the connections but does not SHOW an exact location. Please post a pic if you have one or point me in the right direction. Thanks, Grizz

Mine is 31057A the one that has the square traces. I used a link at Depreys originally but the link at Deprey's will not let me access it. Something about the account being suspended. I really need to know where the slave pos. and neg. are and the trigger pos. and neg. are. Any and all help will be appreciated. Grizz

this is funny because I'm looking for the same info, except my 2000 board is the 31057 -13 b, so the link above works for me but it does'nt say where to put the slave master wires or what the solder points are, ( slave trigg + etc, etc..)

I need the same info Grizz doe's... If its out there we can't find it. I'm sure he's in the same boat and not wanting to fry it like I did on the first one I tried...

any help on this would be very appreciated from both of us,

George

Bull, if you look at the picture at the gadgetheads page, White=batt pos, Black=Batt neg from slavemaster, Red=trigger pos, Green=trigger neg.

thanks Mike,

I'am a little nervous (lol) to just start soldering again, I fried one the other day. I really was'nt sure about the blue wire and the switch and the cutting the trace to use the switch. I assume with the slavemaster the switch on the 2000 stays in the on position, and we dont have to worry about the blue wire (the one in the pic) or cutting the trace.

thanks alot Mike,

George

Correct, just leave the switch on. Did you do the low power mods listed on the Bigfoot page? The old power slave actually measured the voltage and recharged when the slave needed it and not by a set time.

Try this link: http://168.144.20.151/ps7/index.html Find the picture of your board and click on it.
It's been a while and I've only done three slave mods , but If I recall correctly, after the low power mod is completed, you should only have 4 wires coming off of the slave board that connect to the controller: + and - for power control and two more for the trigger.
I hope this helps...if I could figure out why all my saved Hag's links don't work, I could point ya in the right direction.

Cap

BTW...this link is not the low power mod...I put it here for you to reference wire location only

Finally back home and have access to all my pics Let me know if you guys are still having problems and I will dig through my stuff to find where the wires go on you slave boards Basically The slavemaster is easy to connect Just the Green is the slaves power Common and the Orange is the Slaves Power Positive
The Blue is the slaves trigger common and then the Yellow is the slaves trigger positite
The hard thing is with all the different versions of Vivitars to figure out the correct hack George
That 31057-13 is the odd one with the least information and I dont have one here right now I have a couple pics from Jons site and a old one of mine I will attach On the underside I believe the red and blue are the trigger pos and neg

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone that responded to this thread. But, I still do not have a working slave. It was funtional when I robbed the Slavemaster from the original build. dkirk and others were kind enough to show me where the connections are and I have all the connections made. The flash cap will not charge for some reason, it will only register 0.545 volts at best. Any ideas on what the problem is or how to check it out? Grizz

Grizz,

The first thing I would do is to disconnect the Vivitar power wires from the slavemaster and connect them up direct to a battery (so the Vivitar power wires go direct to a battery) and see if the Vivitar flash capacitor chargers up. This is an easy test to make sure the Vivitar inverter components are still working properly (not toast). You can then short the Vivitar trigger wires together to make sure the Vivitar trigger circuit components are still working properly.

Also make sure the Vivitar power switch is in the "on" position (try both positions).

I don't have one of the slavemaster boards in front of me at the moment, otherwise I would give have you do things a little different on the trouble shooting.

Don
