P41 With Using The Shutter Cover For A Day/night Exchanger

Recommended Posts

Been wanting to try this and Chris sure fixed me up with adding his code and showing me how to hook it up Doing it this way The Bigfoot board using the sister board for the slave charging and refresh and the 2 relays for the shutter cover/exchanger I should have aday color night ir p41 when I am done. I ordered one of the cheap peanuts that Tbass found and will try and use it. This way a guy could have it all pretty inexpensively

No Picaxe needed, that is awesome! Are you going to offer that as program option?

Now that is just slicker than you know what. Great job on using the bigfoot to run it. I can see your 32/41 board sales going up!!!! I'll have to try it real soon. I have a 32 cam just sitting here doing nothing....

Has anyone else tried those cheap peanuts that Tony found I would like to make sure they can do what they say they do and last too

I haven't tried them yet. I was waiting for Tonys test results before making the purchase.

You got that right Roger. You'll have a project now when your box arrives....

Bowgod, that means now IOU again! Sure you don't want it back now?

Dave, If you need a tester let me know, I will buy 2 from you because I am about to do this on a P41 and a P32 but with a Picaxe. If not then just put me on the standby list. Sure beats using a Picaxe. Thanks Dave and Chris for working on this, great idea!

Nope...you keep it Roger. My thanks to you for your help with the w5.

I'm going to try out this nifty little board on a p32 as well. Or maybe a 41

I cut a hole in the shutter cover that used to be used to protect the lens from the elements In the cutout here I added a IR filter taken out of a W55 that I IR modded and had removed this filetr Now using the relays I can power the shutter cover motor and have the filter over the lens in daylight giving it back its full color and at night the filter will switch and not cover the lens making it see the ir light Just gives us day color pictures back is all

I will attach a picture of the filter installed in the cover and a unmodified cover right beside it

Dave or Chris, I'm taking it from the drawing that those are 1N4001 diodes on the drawing above RL1 and RL2?
